Effective April 1, 2007 a shared service agreement was worked out between the Borough of Butler and the Borough of Bloomingdale whereby Bloomingdale will provide all building department functions (except zoning and property maintenance).  This will mean increased service for Butler residents and builders with a reduction in cost to the taxpayers of both Bloomingdale and Butler.  The building department will now be open Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.  Also building inspection services will be available a greater number of hours than when the department was located in Butler.  Permits will now be obtained at 107 Hamburg Turnpike in Bloomingdale and the new phone number for the Building Department is (973) 838-7995.  If you have any questions please contact the Butler Administrator at 973-838-7200 ext. 222.
