Borough of Butler Awarded a $91,000 Recreation Improvement Grant

Release Date: April 08, 2025

April 8, 2025 The Borough of Butler is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $91,000 grant through the 2025 New Jersey Recreation Improvement Grant program. These funds will be used to repave the Butler Municipal Parking Lot, a critical shared resource that serves the Borough’s playground, library, and municipal building. “We are thrilled to receive this funding from the State of New Jersey,” said Mayor Ryan Martinez. “This investment will not only improve the safety and appearance of the parking lot, but also enhance access to some of the most important public spaces in our community. This is a great example of state funding making a real, visible impact at the local level. We thank the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for recognizing the value of this project and investing in the long-term vitality of Butler’s public facilities.” The Municipal Parking Lot is a central hub for residents and visitors alike, providing access to recreational, educational, and civic services. The repaving project will improve surface conditions, drainage, and accessibility, making it safer and more convenient for families using the playground, patrons of the Butler Public Library, and individuals visiting Borough Hall. The project will also include updated striping and ADA-compliant features to ensure accessibility for all members of the community. The Borough anticipates beginning the repaving work later this year, with minimal disruption to the services and access of surrounding facilities.
