The Butler Recreation Department is governed by a seven-member volunteer commission. Members are appointed by the Mayor and Council for a five-year term.
The Butler Recreation Commission works in conjunction with the Butler Recreation Director evaluating and developing recreational programs. The Director serves as a liaison between the community and the Recreation Department.
The Recreation Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held at Borough Hall (October-April) and Stonybrook (May-September). Residents are welcome to attend monthly meetings. The goal of the Butler Recreation Commission is to identify the recreational needs of the community, and to build and support those programs and events.
Community organizations interesting in using the Rec Center should make a request through the Recreation Department Office. Contact our office for more information.
