New Jersey's Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program is a public health nutrition program that provides education, nutritious food and improved access to health care and social services for low or moderate-income pregnant women, new mothers and children younger than five years of age.

NJ Helps will help you determine if you are eligible for food assistance (SNAP), cash assistance (WFNJ/TANF or WFNJ/GA), and health insurance (NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid). From there you can apply for services or learn about additional resources.

Get Covered New Jersey and the federal government are offering record levels of financial help to lower the cost of health insurance for most enrollees. Registration is open through December 31, 2022 for coverage beginning January 1, 2023.

New Jersey FamilyCare is a Federal and state funded health insurance program created to help qualified New Jersey residents of any age access affordable health insurance, regardless of your documentation status (for 18 and under). NJ FamilyCare is for people who do not have employer insurance and have been a resident for at least 5 years. Registration is open year-round. If you are already covered by NJ Family Care, keep an eye out for a confirmation packet in the mail and make sure to complete it or you could risk losing coverage.

New Jersey Citizen Action provides free ACA education, outreach, and assistance services to New Jersey residents to help them understand and apply for affordable healthcare coverage options through New Jersey’s health insurance marketplace, including both GetCoveredNJ and NJFamilyCare. Free one-on-one health care enrollment assistance is offered in English and Spanish.

Financial assistance (Charity Care) is available through a variety of programs to low-income, uninsured and underinsured patients who do not otherwise have ability to pay all or part of their hospital bills.
